THE MOST IMPRESSIVE THING ABOUT GUITARIST
RANDY DORMAN, IS THAT HIS SOUND IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER SINGER. HIS
PHRASING AND EMOTIONAL VOCAL RANGE WORKS HANDILY WITH HIS
OVERWHELMING STRENGTH AND MASTERY AS A GUITARIST.

This is a fantastic quote!!!! And Al Julian is experienced enough
to know. By the way, I got the CD today and love it! Great mix and
mastering. I'm very excited about this project as well as the
prospects for future collaboration.

Bob rec'd your new CD at the station today and brought it home so
we could listen to it together first before he puts it on the air.
It is absolutely spectacular!!! There just aren't words to tell
you how much I (we) loved it. Randy, your singing is totally
wonderful and the songs your put on this CD are the greatest. We
both agree that it would be great if you did gigs all around the
country - you'd be soooo well received!
From my point of view there is music that is good for listening to
in the car, at home, alone, with guests, while doing "my thing"
(sewing and miniatures), relaxing, exercising, walking, sitting,
dancing and on and on. I really believe that your CD, Randy, is
good for ALL times and all activities.
Guess that's the highest compliment I can pay any singer/player!!!
Something you can listen to day after day and not get bored.
What a winner!!!!!!
Well, huge congrats on "Lullaby of Birdland" - and I am sure it
will take you into the stratosphere! Sing on!!!

Got the new CD on Friday and auditioned it. Introduced it on the
air this morning with "S' Wonderful". And it is. Love the whole
project. Too early for listener reaction yet, but if the reaction
from the people here is any indication, you have a hit on your
hand.
I'm sure Bob will be playing it on the air this afternoon. Best of
everything,

Love the Vocal Project. Gave it a listen over the weekend and
started playing it yesterday afternoon. Great voice personality,
great song selection--and superb guitar and backup. Love the
simplicity of it all--back to the basics--with some nice
individual touches and surprises. Randy's voice is filled with
personality--an important "plus"-- and I love having the guitar
come through unfettered, unprocessed, with lots of balls. It's
gentle when it has to be and swings when it should. This is great
stuff. Naturally, I've already burned a copy for use in my car to
and from work! I played S' Wonderful yesterday and everyone was
asking Who is THAT guy?" Ronni and I were saying how great it
would be to see you in a live venue. John Pizzerellie used to fill
up the McCallum Theatre here--and your stuff is so much finer,
swinging and bolder. See you later--Bob

Your CD is playing as I write. Love it. Especially the vocals.
Great performance, intonation. Also, your scat singing is very
cool, and the arrangements are first-class. It's so refreshing to
see all you have done with only guitar, bass, drums, and the
occasional trumpet solo. Your playing is elegant, by the way. I
especially love the not-too-many-note solo on Meditation. It
speaks with such a musical voice.
